Saint Rita Parish was showered with all sorts of newborn supplies last weekend for our Respect Life Baby Shower benefitting the local crisis pregnancy centers—A Woman’s Choice and The MaRiH Center. Thank you for your many generous acts of mercy in supporting this event! We collected two large car loads (one for each center) of diapers, baby wipes, bath towels, bibs, formula, assorted clothing, bottles, pacifiers and other newborn items, including an infant swing.
|
In addition, our generous parishioners donated over $1,000 in cash and checks—$361 for A Woman’s Choice and $691 for The MaRiH Center (cash and checks written to Saint Rita Church were split evenly between the two organizations).
Again, thank you, and may God bless you for supporting new mothers in need!

Excerpts from ‘Answer Quickly, O Virgin’ … by St. Bernard
You have heard, O Virgin, that you will conceive and bear a son; you have heard that it will not be by man but by the Holy Spirit. The angel awaits an answer; it is time for him to return to God who sent him. We too are waiting, O Lady, for your word of compassion; the sentence of condemnation weighs heavily upon us. — Tearful Adam with his sorrowing family begs this of you, O loving Virgin, in their exile from Paradise. Abraham begs it. David begs it. This is what the whole world waits for, prostrate at your feet. — Answer quickly, O Virgin. See, the desired of all nations is at your door, knocking to enter. Arise, hasten, and open. Arise in faith, hasten in devotion, open in praise and thanksgiving.—“Behold the handmaid of the Lord,” she says, “be it done to me according to your word.”
