Special Week-Long Celebration Honoring Saint Rita of Cascia, May 18–25
We will be having a raffle as part of our Festival on Saturday, May 19th. We would like to offer as prizes quality, brand new, in-the-box, never used/never opened merchandise donated by parishioners. The value range per prize should be anywhere from $200-$1,000. We will offer as many prizes as are donated. Additionally, if you know of a business that would like to donate, go for it! We will provide a donation letter for the verified cost of the item that can be used as proof for a tax deduction. Items could include electronics (TVs, laptop/desktop computers, iPods, iPads, etc.), sporting goods, exercise equipment, appliances and such. We are only limited by your ingenuity. You can drop off your WHITE ELEPHANT items on Saturday, May 5th, from 1:30–4:30 PM, and Saturday, May 12th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM by the rear school entrance that opens to the grassy courtyard near the parking lot. This year we will offer a 50/50 RAFFLE, with half the amount collected going to Saint Rita Parish and the other half to the lucky winner. Look for raffle tickets and dinner/dance reservation forms beginning May 6th. Festival Volunteers Are Needed In order for our May 19th Festival plans to be a success, we will need lots and lots of volunteers to run the games and the white elephant sale, as well as to set-up and clean-up! What a great way to meet your fellow parishioners. If you would like to volunteer, please contact either Thana Dixon (703-836-3538) or Chris Ames (703-519-8335). Spring Cleaning??? Save your unwanted treasures for the white elephant booth. Watch the bulletin for details regarding the drop-off place and dates. Daily, we face threats to life—from abortion and contraception and cloning, to euthanasia and assisted suicide, sex trafficking and infertility, caring for each other and all our loved ones even unto death, to terrorism and war and murder. Our Respect Life webpage has more info, go here. The Second Look Project has prepared an informative full-color chart detailing the growth in the womb of a new baby. Click here to view the chart.
